Choice is the cornerstone of any
flexible solution and the NCR
RealPOS 70 delivers a variety of
flexible configuration options
to meet your requirements. The
input/output interface is
readily adaptable with both
powered USB 2.0 ports and legacy
serial connections that support
a wide range of traditional
peripherals as well as emerging
technologies like fingerprint
recognition and wireless. The
NCR RealPOS 70 can directly
power a printer, scanner,
payment device, or any number of
other peripherals, significantly
reducing points of failure while
providing lower total cost of
ownership, simplifying cabling
and saving valuable counter
space. |

|
The
RealPOS 20 is an intelligent
integration of functionality,
packaged at a price point that
equates to its small footprint
and low profile. The design
aesthetically combines the
touchscreen, motherboard, hard
drive, power supply, peripheral
connectors, and so forth into a
compact all-in-one workstation.
It is positioned as an
entry-level POS touch
workstation for cost-conscious
retailers, and/or for those that
do not require high-end
processing power. |

For
greater flexibility, the feature/function
comparison spreadsheet is embedded into this
document. The following pages include the same
information that is included in the spreadsheet.
If you are only competing against select
vendors, hide columns to create a more custom
feature/function comparison. |

IBM introduced new
models into the SurePOS 700 Series product line.
There are three models which include the SurePOS
720 (Value Model), the SurePOS 740 (Performance
Model) and the SurePOS 780 (Leading Edge Model).
These new products should replace both the IBM
SurePOS 730/750 and the IBM 4694 because they
offer better price performance, higher
processing speeds (up to Pentium 4 – 2.4 GHz)
and support legacy IBM 485 peripherals such as
printers, keyboard and customer displays and
scanners. The existing SurePOS 750 was deleted
from the table above because IBM officially
discontinued the product. Although IBM
discontinued Series 4694 models, the information
was left in the comparison table above because
they still ship many of those models. |

The NCR RealPOS 80
(class 7458) Terminal is a powerful, flexible,
retail-hardened point-of-sale terminal targeted
for general merchandise, food and drug store
environments. Using the same motherboard as the
RealPOS 80c (class 7456) Terminal, the RealPOS
80 terminal is introduced with a proven track
record. It provides exceptional scalability
utilizing Intel Celeron and Pentium 4 processors
(up to 2.4GHZ) to address a range of
price/performance levels and operating system
environments. The system offers superior
connectivity for retail, with support for legacy
peripheral interfaces (RS-232, PS/2, Parallel,
and VGA), as well as emerging interface
standards such as Powered USB and a DVI video
interface. |
